One additional clarification:
I have commits across multiple repositories on this GitHub account, and I suspect the missing contribution attribution may not be limited to this single repository. I have not yet performed the same detailed commit-by-commit verification on every repository. So if this turns out to require a re-index or rebuild, could GitHub staff please check the contribution attribution at the account/profile level, rather than only rebuilding contribution data for The repository in the original post should be treated as a reproducible example of the broader issue. |

Body
My contribution graph is missing a large number of commits from a private repository, even though the commits appear to meet GitHub's documented contribution requirements.
GitHub Support directed me to Community Discussions because my current support plan does not include technical support.
What I have already verified
main.mainbranch.Commit statistics
For the last year, the current
origin/mainhistory contains:However, my profile currently shows only 107 contributions.
Before adding the historical email address, it showed 42 contributions. After adding and verifying that email, the count increased from 42 to 107, so GitHub appears to have re-attributed some historical commits, but most qualifying commits are still missing.
Example affected date
On September 3, 2026, the current
mainhistory contains 37 commits.I checked one of those commits and confirmed:
main.Despite this, the contribution graph does not reflect the commits correctly.
I have already checked GitHub's documented contribution requirements and cannot identify any remaining condition that these commits fail to meet.
Has anyone encountered this before?
Is there any way to trigger a contribution attribution/index rebuild, or is this something only GitHub staff can correct on the backend?
