Popover flickers from wide to narrow when opened #14477

Open

Description

@Gomilanovic

Describe your proposal

After upgrading from 0.60.x, popover-based components (e.g. fd-inline-help, fd-select, fd-combobox) briefly render at full width when opened, then shrink to their configured maxWidth with a visible animation/flicker. On 0.60.x the popover opened directly at the correct width with no flicker.

Which versions of Angular and Fundamental Library for Angular are affected?

@fundamental-ngx/core: 0.61.7 (reproduced up to 0.64.1, works on 0.60.3)

Affected Component

All popover-based components (e.g., fd-inline-help, fd-select, and fd-combobox).

Steps to Reproduce (for bugs)

  1. Add fd-inline-help with [maxWidth]="some value" (or open any fd-select/fd-combobox)
  2. Open the popover
  3. Notice it appears wide for a moment, then animates down to the correct width

    @Gomilanovic are you able to reproduce it here https://fundamental-ngx.netlify.app/? If so, can you tell us the exact steps? I am not able to reproduce it

    Hi @droshev , sorry I missed the email notification. I’m just seeing this comment now.
    I tried it on the latest version, 0.64.3, and the bug is still present.
    Here’s a quick video:

    Update: I tried also on this version: 0.65.0-rc.11, still the same.
