Open

Description

@c33s

copied from cmderdev/cmder#888

as mentioned in cmderdev/cmder#885 the current release on cmder.net has outdated vendors which are updated in the actual builds of cmder

please add a link "Download Nightly Build" to the this version next to the "Download minimal" "Download Full" Button on cmder.net

this would prevent opening already solved issues.

for the records or persons looking for the actual build. it can be found here

    This should be handled by calling the following APIs:

    • https://ci.appveyor.com/api/projects/MartiUK/cmder
    • https://ci.appveyor.com/api/buildjobs/<id>/artifacts

    I may implement this soon.

    While this is an excellent point the issue we have is making new builds too slowly (which is getting worked on).

    I think this "fix" would bypass traffic from where we can actually collect feedback from on github. Currently you have to get to the bottom of the readme to find the builds on appveyor.

    Perhaps add a link to the readme that points to the development builds location? It would be best to add a contributing section just above "notes / docs" that covers dev builds and getting involved.

    Look for progress and PRs related to cmderdev/cmder#1679 about consolidating contributor information.

    @Jackbennett Since I've been working on GitHub actions, and AppVeyor is no longer used on Cmder, I've been meaning to update the website, the README.md, and Wiki pages to reduce clutter and make the experience for the first time users more smooth.

    I've previously contributed majorly to the website, but it's time to have write access to the website repo as well so I can implement these changes more freely, the same way I've been able to maintain the main repo.

    Please see #28 and grant access so I can start working on organizing the cluttered documentation across mentioned areas, add proper development/nightly builds section in the website, remove outdated links and information, replace outdated references, and update the general look and feel of the website with a fresh look.
