Android engineer working on software businesses depend on: a GST billing platform used by 5L+ Indian businesses at Swipe (YC S21), and open-source banking apps at the Mifos Initiative, where I'm mobile maintainer. Most of the work is legacy modernization — turning code that's hard to change into code a team can build on.
At Swipe, I own the settings, products, expenses, and indirect-income features end to end — UI, domain, data, and network. I've rebuilt 27 feature flows from legacy XML in Jetpack Compose and then deleted 16 legacy flows and feature flags behind them, and introduced Gradle convention plugins that cut per-module build boilerplate by ~80%. I own the Crashlytics fatal-crash backlog: 23 production crashes resolved, crash-free users up from 99.39% to 99.46% (99.60% on the latest releases), crash-free sessions at 99.86%, and monthly fatal crashes down ~14%. Converted from intern to full-time SDE 1 in six months.
At the Mifos Initiative, I'm a mobile maintainer — I review, approve, and merge contributions across open-source banking apps used by financial institutions in developing markets. I proposed and built the core:ui module for the Mifos Android Client, now the foundation for all UI in the application. I've merged 120+ pull requests at a 98% merge rate across 5 production repositories, migrated 20+ modules to Kotlin Multiplatform, modernized 150+ screens, and reviewed 365+ contributor pull requests.
Reviewing 365+ open-source PRs taught me more than writing them did. I think about consistency, migration paths, and what a codebase looks like a year from now — not just whether the feature ships.
I've also shipped 4 personal apps to Google Play end to end — architecture, CI, release and store listing — with 850+ installs between them. Highlights: Status Saver (500+ installs, ★ 4.3) and Pocket Tunes (300+ installs, ★ 5.0).

Role Progression:
SDE 1, Android (Full-time) — June 2026 – Present
Android Developer (Internship) — Dec 2025 – Jun 2026
- Own the settings, products, expenses, and indirect-income features end to end — UI, domain, data, and network — in a GST billing app used by 5L+ Indian businesses. Also maintain notifications, thermal printing, and PDF generation flows.
- Rebuilt 27 feature flows from legacy XML in Jetpack Compose — settings, products and variants, payments, expenses, the online store, profile and analytics — on a multi-module MVI architecture, each shipped behind a Remote Config flag for gradual rollout.
- Finished the migration: deleted 16 legacy flows and feature flags once each Compose flow was stable, so old and new code paths no longer ran side by side.
- Owned the Crashlytics fatal-crash backlog — reproduced and fixed 23 production crashes, taking crash-free users from 99.39% to 99.46% (99.60% on the latest releases), crash-free sessions to 99.86%, and cutting monthly fatal crashes ~14%.
- Introduced Gradle convention plugins via a
build-logicmodule and centralized navigation arguments, cutting per-module build boilerplate by ~80%; new feature modules now start with almost no build setup. - Shipped multi-currency across document creation and expenses, AI-assisted expense capture and product descriptions, product-level discounts, B2B/B2C document filters, continuous barcode scanning, custom fields, and paid-plan and permission gating.
- Cut Firebase Remote Config fetch volume with a longer fetch interval plus realtime updates, and added Play Integrity attestation to sign-in.
- Own Play Store releases through Google Play Console — versioning, staged rollouts, and release tracking.
